Brown Paper Packages: Yellow Conference Edition
This summer I started a little series on the blog to feature a few of my favorite things at the beginning of the month to make Mondays suck less. This edition is special because a few weeks ago, I attended the Yellow Conference—a gathering of creative women who desire to dream big and bring goodness to the world—for the first time.
So this September edition of Brown Paper Packages (click here for past editions!) is Yellow-themed, in honor of the amazing orgs and creative ladies I met there this year.
You are so worth loving.
Beads that inspire and empower women to rise above poverty in East Africa.
I've literally been wearing this for a week (also pictured above!). Buy one, give one to a child with cancer.
We are dauntless and we like it that way.
You guys know how much I need this, right.
It is well.
Wear these, and send a girl in Uganda to college.
This speaker had us all in tears in approximately five minutes. Read her story and follow her beautiful work.
Do something crazy this month in the name of clean water.
I adore this girl and her doodles and you should too if only for this.
If I could give you one word.
Tell the world that girls just want other girls to succeed.
I know that you secretly want these. It's okay. Shh.
Her handlettering (also pictured above). I die.
You don't get much more "LA" than organic, all natural cotton candy, but the pineapple puf was delish so I regret nothing.
Meet the heart behind the vision, the founder of the Yellow Conference.
The Paper Package of the Month is a throwback, because lately I've been feeling a.) nostalgic and b.) a little floored by what it means to have sisterhood in a massive city like Los Angeles. Gail Carson Levine's fairytale The Two Princesses of Bamarreis not only a testimony to sisters, but also about finding your own strength. It couldn't be more fitting.
