WESTRIDGE SCHOOL
MICROSITE

Westridge School is an independent school for girls in grades 4-12 in Pasadena, CA. Every year at the end of their admissions cycle, Westridge creates a "welcome microsite" to host information for newly accepted students. I redesigned the site twice - once in 2018 and once in 2019 - and produced two exciting welcome videos.

a new website in 2018

In 2018, I gave Westridge's microsite a complete, girl-power makeover, starting from scratch with new wireframes, fonts, and color schemes. I upcycled imagery from a previous iteration to create fun GIFs of students at the school, and updated old copy to make the site feel fresh.

a refresh in 2019

In 2019, it was determined that a total redesign was unnecessary, so I instead opted for a design refresh — updating images, color schemes, and creating new illustrative animations to play with the year’s female-empowerment theme: “Hear Us Roar” (a phrase with a double meaning; the Westridge mascot is a Tiger).

2018 video: “One Thing You Have to Know...”

In 2018, I collaborated with the filmmakers from Cardboard Films to edit together a short, student-driven video titled One Thing You Have to Know. Upbeat and quirky, this video captures snippets of student life at Westridge by highlighting through student interviews the "one thing you have to know" about the school.

2019 video: “Welcome to Westridge: #HearUsRoar”

In 2019, I personally shot and edited a new welcome video titled #HearUsRoar (a theme from that year’s admission materials), with the goal of reflecting the girls’ energy and excitement and making the new students feel welcomed. I played with the “roar” concept by capturing shots of Lower School students roaring like a tiger, the school mascot leading a cheer, and the Head of School closing the video by saying, “We can’t wait to have your voice on campus!”
